Its been a while since I posted something. Well work at workplace kept me super busy. One evening in the hunt of what's my IQ score, I started searching about how do you judge someones IQ and ended reading the below Info-graphic. It clearly shows the common pattern of good and bad habits shared by most of the smart people.

"Those with high IQs tend to set goals and read avidly", this is the most common habit you'll observe in some of the smart people around you. The habit of "setting goals & sharing with others" is really what I would like to copy from these smarties ...

There are two troops of Cloud Army : IBM , VMware, HP & EMC2 form one troop while Amazon, Google & Salesforce form the other troop. Yes, you guessed it right first troop provides Private cloud services and latter provides Public cloud services. Lets take a close look on which is the best as far as money is concerned.Cloud cost breakdown table at the bottom clearly explains the cost involved for every service provided by either private or public cloud provider.

IBM has been acquiring many companies year after year, the Matrix Plotter shows a visual analysis of the acquisitions based on their acquisition date, domains,country and continent. This online tool has been developed by IBM Research in collaboration with IBM Cognos Software. The tool proves to be very effective in analysis of big data (structured or unstrucutured) and helps provide a visualization to derive information from the data.As the data continues to grow, data analysis becomes more interesting to make future decisions. Some of the bigge$t acqui$ition$ for IBM were Informix, Rational, PWC , FileNet, BigFix, Netezza and a total of 100+ companies since 1999.

For more analysis we can use a Bubble plotter as shown below :

We can clearly see from the above two visualizations that IBM has acquired majority of IT companies from USA and Europe, during the period of 2004 to 2008 accounting for more than 50 companies. Many Eyes is a powerful tool to analyze such data.

VMware's vSphere has become the Virtualization standard for any company wanting to run its IT infrastructure in a virtualized mode. Tracing the roots of VMware back to year 2001 when the company launched its first product "ESX 1.0" which stands for "Elastic Sky X" ( Not sure what is really means ). The real essence is to maximize the hardware utilization by making use of hardware on a sharing basis between different Virtual Machines sitting on top of the ESX software which runs on a bare metal machine and not on top of a third part OS.
ESX 1.0 supported 1 CPU , 2GB of Memory, upto 5GB/s of network speed and a massive 5000 IOPS (Input/Output operations per second). Since then till the current release of vSphere 5.0 ( after EX1, ESX2 new release was named as Virtual Infrastrure 3 which then was re-named to vSphere 4 for the next release) these metrics have changed drastically.
VSphere 5 has a support for 32 CPU, 1000GB of Memory, upto 36 GB/s of network speed and 1,000,000 of IOPS. Thats the beauty of VMware and the innovation in the hardware world.

VMware is everywhere, starting from Military infrastructure to Banking to Public Transport Systems.Every IT organization is using VMware/Virtualization to reduce its IT costs and achieve its "Cost to Value" goal. The infographic gives better picture of the ancestors of vSphere 5.0

I keep on receiving a lot of mails related to latest news and updates. SOPA is one of the hot topics to read and listen about. My inbox is stuffed with lot of original and forwarded mails on SOPA. I kept deleting them every time until I made a decision to understand what SOPA is all about. I am person who loves infographics - kind of a all-in-one answer to all your queries.
